Very Scary People is a show where Donnie Wahlberg retraces the backgrounds, psychology and motives of the most frightening killers in history. We wanted to visually immerse him in a world with symbolism and iconography from said stories, while also keeping it vague so they don't immediately reveal many of the specifics of each case.

Our innitial idea for a photoshoot came out of a random oportunity because of extra budget, so we quickly created a look for how things could turn out, just to visualize within a couple days.

After getting approval, we moved on to asset creation. A combination of 3D elements, stock imagery, hand made illustrations and a lot of compositting went into this step. We tried to create an overwhelming look that could be cropped into, that way we could play around with it once projected.

Once we got confirmation on the location, we built the space in 3D to play around with the projections and see how much more we could push it.

After finishing up the static imagery for the projection, we were requested to do a video if possible, within 12 hours of the shoot. It seemed fun so I stayed up all night creating a video that would focus on different parts of the plate slowly revealing the whole thing. Just to have a variety of scales.
